Our History

1997

Shannon started in a small space in Downtown McGregor. She had a handful of booths and was off to a good start.

2002

We moved outside of the little town of McGregor and took a leap of faith, buying property to build our first small building. We grew but very little at the time. Shannon would open and close the store by herself, and there were many days when she would see very few people.

2008

The time had come to expand again. We added our second section onto the back of what was the small little store. This added many more booths. We thought we were done, and we were for the time being. But then we had such demand, we thought about adding on again.

2012

And we did it again. We added another section, the third section, on to the back of the building. This felt like it had to be the end of our growth. But we were far from being done.

2013

FIXER UPPER: Joanna Gaines was a good customer of ours and asked if she could film shopping at our mall for the Fixer Upper episodes. Of course we were honored and you will see our mall on some of the original episodes.

2016

Again, we were out of room for more vendors. We realized we couldn’t keep going back, as we were out of property. So we bought another piece of property two doors down and opened a second store called Cedar Chest Too. This gave us a lot more space but we were realizing we were stretched too thin as we had to staff both locations.

2020

As many experienced the shutdown of COVID, we too experienced it. We were closed the entire month of March this year. Even though we had no business that month, the months following made up for it, and the mall continued to grow!

2021

An opportunity came about. The property behind us came available and we jumped at it, This allowed us to expand the building even further back and we incorporated the old barn workshop at the rear of our property to make it our back checkout and entrance, and added sections four and five. This also allowed us to close down and sell the Cedar Chest Too property and bring it all back together.

Today, we operate 32,000 square feet of booth space. Come see us and plan on spending a good week looking at everything!
